Jesus instructed His disciples to "go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." This is still the mission of the Church today, so at Calvary Baptist Church we are committed to being involved in mission work. In addition to our personal efforts to reach out to people in this community, we also contribute significantly to the support of more than 30 family units doing mission work locally as well as in various parts of the USA and around the world.
Some Aspects of Mission Ministry within the Church
- We have an annual five-day conference with some of the missionaries we support coming to inform and inspire us with reports of how God is working in their part of the world.
- We have an annual promotion called PACT ("Plant a Church Together"), in which we focus attention on a specific mission project and collect offerings for that project for several weeks. There are also other mission-related special offerings taken each year.
- Missionaries who are on "home assignment" come to speak in our services.
- We send letters and gifts to our missionaries.
- Their letters to us are printed in our weekly bulletins.
- We sponsor youth and adults from our church as they take short-term mission trips.
