(7/29/07) One in spirit and purpose was the theme for the South Asia Group conference in Pattaya, Thailand where we had the privilege of providing counseling and seminars for colleagues working in Nepal and India. While in Thailand John served as part of the personnel committee in interviewing a new director candidate for Cornerstone Counseling Foundation in Chiang Mai. Please pray for God’s direction as the candidate considers this position.

In May we were part of a great team sent for the purpose of training people from 23 different mission organizations at Campus Crusade for Christ’s headquarters in Orlando, FL on issues of child safety and abuse response. The conference discussed best practices and shared resources in prevention, response procedures and counseling.

In June we had wonderful opportunities to collaborate and train European colleagues. A one-day workshop sponsored by several mission groups was followed by a second workshop sponsored by European organizations interested in missionary member care. Seventy-five people from 25 different European mission organizations attended this workshop. Future opportunities for counseling, consulting, and collaboration were the outcome.

Sharing the child safety training and providing counseling for those working in this area of the world, allowed us also to be encouraged by the reports of how God is using our colleagues to bring the Good News to minority people groups who are facing many challenges.
