"Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. (Ephesians 5:15,16; NIV)
May the Lord continue to shower His blessing upon you and reveal to you all good things as we pilgrimage in 2003. Roosevelt, Mary, Daisy and Albany send their love and thanks for your partnership in ministering the gospel of "Christ."
The first half of 2003 has presented challenges and opportunities to make Christ known to youth and their family members. Some have been opportunities to provide comfort. Others have been challenges to stand on the word of God against those who oppose the gospel of Christ and have hidden agendas. But God's grace has kept us in remembrance, to be careful how we live and make the most of every opportunity to proclaim the Lord Jesus Christ.
April and May presented the opportunity to share the hope in Christ to four bereaved families of the community by providing the Youth Center facility for funeral services. The message of God's salvation was given and heard by those in attendance. There were nine who rededicated their life to Christ. Six who placed their trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. There were others who doubted. But all had the opportunity to hear and be delivered.
Housing development brings new families into the community. The Chicago Housing Authority has built a number of affordable housing units which have added new families to the community. Many of these families' children, teens, and young adults attend the youth center ministry's weekly activities. Some have little or no knowledge of who Jesus Christ truly is. Others are being taught a Christ less gospel or practice forms of religion that are in opposition to the truth. Please continue to pray that we would have direction and wisdom from the Lord to govern our life and plans for ministry. Pray also for the Lord to prepare hearts for reception of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
